Has anyone changed their headlight bulbs not impressed with the standard ones at all, looking for recommendations and how difficult are they to fit.

I changed mine to the Philips white vision Xenon effect headlight, it did make a difference but when we went to the French meet a couple of years ago I used the light deflectors and I think a bit of residue remained on the plastic headlamp and the brighter light may of burnt the lens.  Having said that it is possible that something just hit the headlamp I have some new headlamps but they are sat in a garage in Kent.  (@Araf i will get down soon to collect them)  As for fitting them, I went round to my local garage and they sorted them for me, they claimed they were easy.

EASY!!

Must be my old stiff fingers but I found fitting bulbs a right fiddly job.

When I switched on the lights afterwards; good thing I was pointed at the garage door at the time; I discovered I had actually mis-positioned one of them & the beam was all over the place.

Have to say after a change to Halfords bulbs with an alleged increase in power of 130% I haven't noticed much improvement in night vision.

If you go for them it will be interesting to see what you make of them I think one of the German Winds has used something like that will see if I can find the post.

Yes, the lights are awful. I too changed to the Halfords (alledgedly brighter) ones but didn’t notice the difference.
