Replacement windsceen
I've got Autoglass here fitting a new windscreen after a rock hit mine and cracked it. He's been fitting screens for nine years on all sorts of everything but has never done a Wind before!
Genuine Renault screen being fitted too, presumably because there's not enough demand for anyone to make cheaper after-market alternatives.

Just running costs really. But glad you got it sorted. Spent that on 2 new tyres on the KA today, darn sight cheaper than the Wind. But the Wind is my baby wrapped in cotton wool.

Re: Replacement windsceen
Out of interest, was the screen in stock, or did they have to order it in?
As an aside, I used to work above an Autoglass place, and I did once see someone drop a rear screen when those sucker things failed. That was a bit of a mess as it basically turned into 100,000 glass cubes.

They didn't have it in stock but were able to phone me back within the hour with an installation date only a couple of days later.

Thats not too bad. I now do wonder how big the spares stockpile is that Renault keeps.

Until the Wind is 10 years old I think they are committed to keep spares.

No, they are supposed to ensure there's a parts supply for an expected 10 years of demand.
Once written agreements run out then Valeo etc will start to sell the exact same parts but under their own name, keeping the cars on the road. The only problem for the Wind will be anything manufactured in-house.
