I couldn't imagine you with your top on permanently Barbs, glad its sorted!

I've never looked at the mechanism while the roof has been cycling so I've no idea what the photo is showing me. I'll take a look, find out where it is and see how much gunk I've got. Thanks for the heads up and info.

There is a roof key.Get the dealer to provide one and yes glove compartment. If the roof does fail you can't open the boot. But as I said mine was an unusual situation. I didn't even know how to remove the Renault badge at the back. The point of the Forum is the problems you may never encounter but a good reference point to start from if you do.

Next time I have the roof open - 2 jobs a) spray copious amounts of silicone spray which I bought to lubricate electric windows to roof running gear and b) run some furniture polish which also contains silicone over the rubber mounts where the roof joins the body to prevent sticking.

Just had a problem with my roof, after last week when car electrics died, I took off negative lead on battery for 10 mins which brought the electrics back.
Went to open the roof today and nothing !!

Removed fuse 26 and checked it, all good put it back in and hey presto !! Roof works.

This must have reset it
