Window drop Empty Window drop

Post by Davey1983 Fri 18 Jan 2019 - 9:28

Hi, I would be grateful for any help or advice.
This morning I’ve unlocked the car, drivers window has dropped as usual when opening the door but has not retracted once the door is closed.
Opened the door again, but window just drops further. Window will close fully once the ignition is on and button used to close it.
Tried a few times but won’t close with the door.
Thanks in advance
David

Hi johntymac!

Your advice saved me time and money!
After a battery change I had the problem that the window at the driver side would no longer go totally up when I had the door closed.
I came to the forum, made a quick search, went out to my Wind and 2 minutes later returned to the waiting family with a very big smile!

Yep...it'll work for sure, and worth remembering that it'll need resetting when you take the car in for a service, as they may disconnect the battery at some point. I had the Cam belt, water pump and auxiliary belt changed, then the garage left it out in the rain without noticing that the drivers window was down by an inch !!!...fortunately not much water got in, but a swift reset as per the above posts soon got the windows working in sync 👍
