fuel gauge Empty fuel gauge

Happly driving along , showing 40 miles to fill up time then suddenly  a row of dots appeared .no miles left..panic confused . anyway , how many miles left in tank when this happens ??

You could be oureduced tester here not sure anyone ever posted that. Hope you got to a petrol station.

when you get to 55 miles left and the light comes on it will dot out after about 3 mins.. when you restart car same will happen with whatever you have left for another 3 or so minutes..

I have miles left in tank as my full time display especially when on a long trip which I find more useful than the gauge which is unilluminated during the day. I chicken out & head to the next filling station at 100mls remaining.

Letting it go down to 40 mls! You're a braver man than I!!

There isn’t much left when the orange light comes on and then the display disappears just to leave you guessing!

I have ran out of petrol in the Wind once. The low fuel light came in when I was topless on the motorway so I didn’t hear the buzzer or see the light. A bit later I saw the light, wondered how long it had been on, mused on what I would do if I ran out of petrol and then I did!

Lesson learned , garage was 4mls away just tootled along at 30mph with fingers crossed . lol Embarassed
