renault kadjar
I've just been looking at the kadjar (through boredom!) and I was very surprised to see a 1.2tce version available with 130 bhp!!! amazing what a small engine can produce these days!!
just wondering if a kadjar map would squeeze into my wind, someone somewhere must know how to!!

Re: renault kadjar
There are a few companies offering Wind remapping.
Superchips reckon 18bhp for about £300.
The Kadjar 1.2tce is 1197cc, same size as the Captur, so bigger then the Wind. Mind you the Captur model only outputs 120bhp so Renault have been squeezing power too. But Captur is similar to what Superchips are claiming can do for Wind.

Re: renault kadjar
When my wife bought her Captur the 1197 (120 bhp) petrol motor would have been her choice but it was only available with auto so she had to settle for the 898cc 90bhp motor. She didn't want a Diesel.
Reckon the 898 TCe motor is just the 1.2 TCe minus a cylinder as the bhp to cc ratios are identical & 898 cc is three quarters of 1197.
Getting 130 bhp out of the 1197 begins to make the Wind's "Renaultsport" 1.6 133bhp look a bit dated although I suppose technology has moved on since 2011.
18bhp for £300 is not outrageous but depends on whether the extra power is available at usable revs.
Is it worth having a chat with main dealer re re-mapping?

Test drove the Captur the other day as dealership was offering a deal. Decided would want the 1.2 engine as other half has the 898cc in her Twingo already. And didn't want the diesel choice either.
Just found that Quantum Tuning are doing a sale of £249 for 125bhp mapping with 29% torque increase

Re: renault kadjar
I talked to Powerflow about remapping whilst they were fitting a new catback exhaust system to the Wind (1.2tce). They are claiming HP up to 125 from 100 and torque up to 200NM. This would be a significant improvement in acceleration. However they said it depended on which ECU was fitted. Some ECU remaps can be accessed via the plug under the passenger footwell but others the ECU has to be removed and work done on bench. Havn't gone any further with it at moment but would be interested to hear from anyone who has remapped.

Re: renault kadjar
Whilst in dealership for major service and MOT I asked for views on remapping. One of the guys in then had just had their own vehicle done and was very happy with results. Also agreed that the newer Renaults (Kadjar and Captur) are pretty much remapped versions of the older engines..
Recommended a local company who come to house and remap including fitting K&N filter. Plus will do a free reload if map is reset during a service. I'm getting in touch to see what they suggest potential improvements could be.
