Car key issues

Initially the key would only turn in the barrel 30% of the time. I thought initially the barrel had seized. A friend suggested I try my spare key which does seem to work fine.

I suppose I need a new (main) key and need to get it programmed. Any advice on this as I couldn't find a post on it here.

Timpson the shoe repair people did a replacement key for my Ka.

Yeah I did look at their website, but it said they only do keys without buttons. Can't get hold of my local Renault today.

Hi. I wouldn't use a dealer. It will cost a fortune. I had to get a new key for my Mazda and Googled "car key replacement near me" and found a mobile one. I sent a picture of my key and they gave me a price. As they were quite far from me we met halfway. An hour later...new key cut and programmed. As I don't know where you are I'd just Google nearest and try 3 of them to get the best quote.
