Alarm Issues Empty Alarm Issues

Post by Bullyboy Tue 26 Jul 2016 - 22:10

Wife moved the car earlier today.  Tonight the alarm has gone off twice.  All windows/boot/roof shut.   Can't find anything in the handbook.

My thoughts are
A fly or insect in the car ?

If you look the doors once rather than deadlock it does this still activate the alarm ?   Can you lock without activating the alarm ?

Help appreciated.  Thanks

in order to deactivate the alarm if you have to turn the ignition on and off twice.... so that you can leave the windows open on a hot day. When you lock it after this the car will then beep three times.

You could try this.

Oddly, in hot weather I leave the windows cracked on mine, and lock it as normal, and the alarm has never gone off.

That means its working you don't want anyone reaching in and opening the doors from the inside.

Well it hasn't gone off again and car hasn't been touched today. I can only presume some sort of fly/insect was in the car. when my Mrs moved it and moved it back.

Thanks the replies. Lets hope it doesn't reappear.

I couldn't find the answer anyway.  If you press the button on the fob on and off a certain  number of times it switches of the sensors off but still locks the door and immobilizer.

I leave mine top down with the dog in all the time. To deactivate the movement sensor (but leave the door sensors set) turn the ignition on and off four times, get out and lock the car as usual. The alarm will beep four times to confirm it's been done. If it only beeps three times it's not set right and the alarm will sense movement, so set it again. Sorted.

The cabin movement sensor is very sensitive to movement, and there is no adjustment.

At least the range envelope remains within the boundaries of the cabin, and not outside LOL!

I know this as a few years back I had to get the alarm box in the boot replaced and a new movement sensor under warranty, as the car alarm was going ten to the dozen at night, and the alarm fitter told me they just replace faulty movement sensors, if that is the problem, as their is no adjustment. I also had problems with the main alarm PCB, hence the need for a new alarm box.

Bizarrely I also own a Qashqai and the last 2 nights the alarm has gone off.  I hovered the interior sensors in case of dust or small insect and it did not go off today.

2 cars - 2 alarm issues in the space of a short time.

maybe time the 6 lottery numbers came up !

RAC out to the qashqai.  They disconnected the battery for a full reset of system.  Checked the obvious and then said if it goes off again needs a dealer visit.   Touch wood silence since he has been !

Alarm has gone off 3 times in 3 days.  Car locked.  Drove it yesterday and all fine.
What is the sequence of deactivating it withe key job if roof up and car locked ?  Or isn't there one.  Thanks in advance
