Air conditioning. Empty Air conditioning.

Hi all, my air con only seems to go down to 15 degrees, which doesn't seem to cool things much when it is warm (this Cornwall. Warm is the best it gets this end!) Is this right? Can it be lowered? Cheers John.

Hi John, 15 degrees is right for the control and should be cool enough if the air con is working properly. Putting your hand infront of the outlet, with the blower fan on full and the air con engaged, you should be able to feel the blown air is "biting" cold. Can you hear the compressor 'clunk' when you turn on the air con? Mine currently doesn't, which I suspect is low refrigerant pressure in the system. My next job is getting it recharged so maybe that's your next course of action too as even if the compressor 'clunks' in low pressure will make the system less efficient in cooling.

I think 15 means 15 or lower, the same way that 27 actually means 27 or higher. As Timtnx says, it should be bitingly cold, if it’s not it needs some work.

It is definitely not bitingly cold, more like cool.
