Re: White Wind Spotted
Had a fantastic time, mind there was six of us on our motorbikes. We stayed in Balloter for the first night, Elgin, second night, on to Betty Hill for two nights, one night in Applecross, one night in Broadford on the Isle of Skye and the final two nights near Inveraray. Now waiting for my Eibach springs to arrive from Germany to get the car sorted, although I've only got next week before I'm off on a cruise, back three days and I'm going to the Pecos area of Spain and Portugal for a fortnight on the bike. Retirement is a real chore.

Sounds like a real chore!! I might delay mine for a while, you've put me right off!!
I love skye, been up a couple of times, a friend and I did the cuillin ridge, it was superb! I also stayed in Uig the night before I sailed to the outer hebrides, Lewis and Harris.
I love the west coast, some beautiful roads for biking, I feel the wanderlust returning!!

Skye is simply magical, riding over the Skye Bridge is incredible. Over the years I have visited Skye many times, also Mull, Arran, Lewis and Harris. Mull you have to visit because of Tobermory, Arran is like a mini Scotland, it has everything, Harris has incredible beaches with pure white sand, I found Lewis a bit underwhelming although we did visit the stone circles which were really interesting and also rode up to the lighthouse at the Butt of Lewis and watched the Atlantic rollers, The West Coast is magnificent and riding up from Tyndrum to Glen Coe is awe inspiring. Scotland is a bikers paradise.

Re: White Wind Spotted
i have to totally agree!! the callanish standing stones are special!
my ex son in law and I did a tour a few years ago, I was on a 250 scoot, he was on a geared 125!! the scoot coped no problem but the 125 had a few problems (hills) but it was still brilliant! so remote in places!!
I might have to start planning again!!
