I used this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=201546700435 on the roof and all the other external black vinyl/plastic finish on the car and it looks absolutely superb. You can even use it inside on the dashboard. I was really pleased with the end result. The roof on my original black car was looking a bit faded and this brought it back to almost brand new condition. Money well spent.

It really only takes about ten minutes to do all the black bits on the car. It's quite thick and goes on very easily with a dry cloth, it then just polishes off leaving a brand new finish. I'm beginning to sound like an advert. I've offered to do Geoff's for him while he fits new uprated headlight bulbs to my car. He's already done his and reckons they are a noticeable improvement.

Roof Refinishing Empty Roof faded

Post by Keef Sun 8 Aug 2021 - 8:25

Hi!

I appreciate I'm looking at this post 5 years on, so not surprised the link to the product to restore the roof to black doesn't work, but does anyone have a product they use that can restore a faded finish of the roof ?

Hi Keith

I've found that "Carplan Black trim wax" works really well on the roof and on the plastic surround of the high level brake light.
It gets better the more coats, and although it needs a re-apolication every few months or so, it has made a noticeable difference to my roof and outside trim 👍
