ok its not really a mod but just bought some Renault Metal Chrome Tyre Valve Dust Caps they have tiny Renault logos on them. I know sad....only £2.06 including p&p

I'll get my coat .....

Yes, and then go and take them off, and refit the old plastic ones, unless the new ones are brass (highly unlikely).

You will get galvanic corrosion between the cap and valve stem, the caps will get stuck, and you'll have to cut the valves off and have the tyres removed to fit new ones.

Pretty, but pretty useless.

Mark says rub some Vaseline on the valve threads and then screw them on, or copper grease if you have it. He reckons that will stop it. Sheila.

I made that mistake when I had an Alfa MiTo lovely caps till it came to needing to take them off to check pressure, forced 3 off the 4th trashed the tyre valve and had to get a new one fitted

I will get some stuff on them tomorrow. with all the machinery we have at work there must be something that would work. Maybe even that silicon grease that stops the roof noise.

ACF50 is a good product for anti corrison use it on the motorbikes and seems to work well. Also a fan of GT85 which brings plastics up lovely too and has worked to stop creaking of Windys roof
