Another one bites the dust
My pride and joy, my automotive delight is no more.
Driving in heavy spray on the A303, a minor twitch to avoid what looked like something bulky in the road ahead - in retrospect I think it was more likely a harmless black bin bag - resulted in my Wind clipping the barrier in the central reservation.
Apart from the car being a write-off, all else was fine. No one was hurt in the making of this accident.
That was last autumn.
The Wind is Dead - Long Live the Wind!
Yesterday I acquired another Black Wind.
Yes, I am back on the road!

Re: Another one bites the dust
Thanks for all the kind wishes, folks.
My latest vehicle is a 1.6 GT Line, so that's a slight improvement on overall specs. The turbocharger on the 1.2 made up for a lot, but I do prefer the 1.6 engine. The reviews of these cars suggested that the 1.6 needed thrashing to get anywhere, but I'm really not finding that. Mind you, I've not taken it out for a thorough run yet. That'll be on Wednesday when I drive from here (Exeter) to Fleet.
By the way, while looking for a replacement, the colour choices were exclusively black, blue, or white. Except one private sale of a red one. Anyone here have or seen a red one? Just curious.
