Ah, there is nothing to beat a private plate for hiding the age of your car.

I have my favorite plate with three letters and three numbers for over thirty years (and for some reason it's on her car). Just the luck of the draw regarding who is changing their car and when. Its worth around £1800 now.

On my Wind I have a prefix plate (a letter followed by a number under 19, then three letters) which I have owned for fifteen years. Its worth around £500.

I use private plates so that I can remember the vehicle reg number.
