I want some 15" Wheels £
Hi - Anyone got any 15" wheels they want to sell me? Any condition considered.
I haven't got a clue what I need to buy (sizes and other compatible Renault models etc), so reckon it would be safer to buy from (or seek help) of Wind owners.
[posted in wrong section - not sure how to move lol]

Why are you wanting 15” wheels if you don’t mind me asking?
I know you can get Renault Wind wheels in 16” rather than the 17” ones.

MK2 Renault Twingo and MK2 Clio wheels should be a straight swap.

Hi - I want to go from no rubber to as much rubber on the road as I can possibly get (woooargh). I am right thinking the smaller the wheels the more scope for bigger tyres aren't I....bigjase1972 wrote:Why are you wanting 15” wheels if you don’t mind me asking?

So you know if I asked for these at an online dealer/seller - they wouldn't ask me about bolt configurations and stuff would they? Or perhaps I could just say 'what ever the spec of those I just asked for is'....bigjase1972 wrote:MK2 Renault Twingo and MK2 Clio wheels should be a straight swap.
I did give up a couple of years ago having made some tentative enquiries. The places I asked insisted I should have what the car came with (I know wrong places no doubt).

The MK2 Twingo wheels are definitely the same stud pattern so will fit straight on. I believe the MK2 Clio are the same too.
Yes with smaller wheels, you will be able to fit a higher profile tyre.
I’m guessing you are wanting it to give you a softer ride.
I’ve seen someone trying this on the Facebook club page in the past.

Struggling to find suitable examples. Its a bit more difficult cos I'd like some steels.
Would a wheel/tyre combination of this spec possibly fit (and match the existing rolling whatever you call it)?

The stud pattern on the wheel should fit. I’m not entirely sure how the profile depth works. I think my 17” are a 40 profile, so would guess 16” would go to 50 profile and then 15” would be a 60, but you would have to check that with someone in the know mate.
Not sure how steels will look on a Wind though?

The 185 width would be a little thinner than the standard Wind wheels.

You can check the comparable wheel and tyre combinations to keep the speedo accuracy correct at this website.Huw (Barry The Renault) wrote:Hi - I want to go from no rubber to as much rubber on the road as I can possibly get (woooargh). Also you can get all the Wind wheel data you need here to look for alternative wheels to fit.

Hope this helps in your search.

Re: I want some 15" Wheels £
You have to watch your 'rolling radius' if your moving onto 15" wheels.
This may affect the accuracy of the car's speedometer. You do not want to be at a higher speed than you think you are doing, ie, going over speed limits in town.
You will find a rolling radius calculator on the web, plenty of them (by googling), ensuring you have the right size tyre for the 15" wheel.

Re: I want some 15" Wheels £
Quick update on this post. Many thanks for the advice given and big thanks to Libs for selling me his 15's (we did a great deal, all went very smoothly).Wanted to say the website checkers are very helpful (some are more readable than others). I used https://alloywheels.com/. Here is the advice regarding my new configuration (see image). I might get something a little closer to the original circumference when I renew my tyres next.PS . I have noticed an MPG reduction since I changed to smaller wheels (not quite sure if that is real or a calibration thing).

Re: I want some 15" Wheels £
I guess your mpg will go down as it looks like your new set up has a larger circumference tyres than the original. That means your car will have travelled further than the speedo thinks it has due to the larger tyre size. It will also mean you are travelling faster than your speedo registers. So watch out for those speed traps...
