Side protection strips for the Wind?

I was just wondering if there has ever been any aftermarket stick-on black plastic side protection strips for the Wind? Colour coded strips?

This modern clean look of the sides might look good, as seems to be the in-thing with car design now, but all my previous cars I have owned had side strips to protect from scrapes and dents, and were quite efficient at doing so.  

Has anyone got strips fitted, where to get them? Cheers Jim.
