Hi Sweeney. I'm looking at having Xenon HID bulbs fiited as dipped beams....my main beam bulbs already light up everything...but my dips are useless.
I've got an auto electrician looking into getting DRLs that will fit into the grilles with chrome casings so as to retain the character of the cars "face".
He's never seen a Wind before....and when he saw the headlights he said.."This is a car that was never designed to drive in the dark !!....and where I live...thats really true. So he's looking into headlight options at the same time 😊👍

Post by Sweeney Tue 26 May 2020 - 13:08

Hi  I think both head and dipped bulbs are the same .Interesting to know how other Wind owners find the lighting and if there is a really good bulb to change onto .

Let us know how you get on as I upgraded to the LED bulbs and spent a fortune on ones for the full and dipped beam but reverted back to the factory ones and I still light up everything.

The car just didn’t look right with the other ones I had.

Whenever driving at night, especially on country roads with no street lamps I’ve always felt the lights were lacking. Partners car (a 68 plate Renault) has full LEDs and daylight runners, so being a more modern version from same manufacturer feels a good alternative to compare Wind against. As you would expect being newer bulbs and LEDs find it much nicer experience at night.
Would be very interested in hearing reviews on what bulbs anyone has tried. I’m still on the originals so would be good to treat Wind to a new set.

If your MoT expired this month surely you were entitled to the COVID 6 mths extension?

Yes....would have been entitled to the Covid 6 month extension....but to be honest, I had some time off and just wanted it done at the same time as the full service. It's service history was somewhat vague, but only had 27,000 on the clock when I bought it....so I wanted a "belt and braces" service done and the MOT at the same time.
