Roof cycle warning Empty Roof cycle warning

Having real problems with this, roof opens and closes without issue but warning light stop on with roof cycle warning. Looked for stones, dirt, cleaned up usual spots and added greased. Beginning to think it might be a sensor. Tried dis-connecting battery to reset but no luck.
Anyone got any ideas. had similar problems ??

Just a thought.

Does the warning stay on when open or closed or both?

Warning light and annoying beep comes on if roof open or closed when driving. Today re-checked everything in roof and boot, everything seems fine, opens and closes fine but drive and warning comes back more when driving with roof open.
Beginning to think visit to Renault specialist after lockdown required

I saw your post on Facebook group. I've been thinking about the issue and it seems to me more likely to be to do with the cover that lifts rather than the roof itself. Maybe worth checking the sensors in the hinge mechanisms of the cover and make sure they are all clean. I think there may also be some sensors that confirm the locks have engaged to keep the cover down. I'm sure they would be at the hinge end of the wires that activate the locks. Maybe the operating cables are sticky.... Some light oil down the end of the cables may help if they feel tight.

If the warning comes up roof open or closed I would definitely agree with Timtnx

Try a squirt of silicon spray round all roof cover mechanisms etc.

Can't do any harm: I get the silicon spray out every other month on all roof related items.

Appreciate the suggestions, have tried all of these, I agree it appears to be the back cover. Everything seems correct and now well oiled and cleaned.
Seems a visit to Renault indy specialist in Edinburgh will be required after lockdown.
Will feedback what they say in due course

Update on roof issue. So to recap, when i turned ignition the dashboard had "roof opening" with two bars. When driving I got the annoying beep with "stop" Roof finish cycle on dashboard.
Renault specialist found the front catch on near side roof cover wasn't locking. A quick adjustment sorted the error with no further warnings on dashboard. No real cost which was a plus
