Windy Feelings
Off to Bedfordshire this afternoon for an overnight followed by a visit to Bletchley Park tomorrow morning.
Can do the round trip on a tankful so decided to top it up. Stopped at the petrol pump.
First thing I was approached someone; who I met many moons ago in a friendly golf match; who said is that your toy car just for local trips? Where do put your golf clubs?
Opened boot & showed him. He was impressed & more so when I told him we drive to the Med in it & enjoy all the benefits of: Roof down with a full boot; Auto Air Con; & other comforts.
Felt good about my Wind!!
Now to the business of topping up: Big mistake as it was nearly full & we all know how difficult it is to get those last few litres in.
After much pfaffing about; during which time another car, which was queuing behind me, moved to another pump; I got £6.50s worth of petrol in it.
Felt embarrassed & less impressed with my Wind!!
Attractive young lady on till commented on time taken to put in such little fuel. So I explained.
Can't the manufacturers fix it she said & I explained that it was something owners lived with as it was such a rare car.
She pondered a bit & then said never mind:
IT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL CAR!
Felt really good about my Wind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
