Door closed switch faulty
Hi,
My good partners Wind has developed a fault today.
When we close the drivers side door, the window stays retracted and the door open warning light stays illuminated on the instrument console.
I am suspecting that the switch inside the door lock has failed. I can get a replacement lock from e-bay, no problem there. Is there anyone else on here had a similar issue and how did they rectify it.
Thinking that I am going to have to remove the door car and replace the lock.
I have tried spraying WD40 inside the mech, in hope of freeing it off, but to no avail.
Regards
Dave

I think you can claim a first there, I’ve not heard of it before. Hopefully nothing to break the bank balance.

Found one on e-bay, hopefully this will sort it out.knebby wrote:I think you can claim a first there, I’ve not heard of it before. Hopefully nothing to break the bank balance.
The car is under warranty, but it means taking a day off work, then there is no guarantee they will fix it under the warranty agreement, so decided to sort it myself.
Just need to get the door card off. Any how to's on that one?

Re: Door closed switch faulty
Well, it was door card off and new door lock fitted today, instant result, everything working, we can lock the car again and drive the window back up.
All I had to do was reset both electric windows after replacing the lock. They both had gone out of sync.

Great news
