Owning a 1.6 Wind & seeing that there was no external designation between 1.2 & Renaultsport 1.6 I confess I couldn't resist this:

http://www.yourbadges.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=48&products_id=555

I've fitted it on the boot lid in the bottom right corner.

It looks tasteful enough to be original equipment & not so large that it is OTT.

Or am I just an old poseur?

I like it. Nicely subtle. Might be tempted...!

I got my 1.6 just over a year ago with 15,000 on the clock and the engine was tight and the gearbox was still clunky, like new. I'm now on about 45,000 and the engine has loosened and is much more revvy, the gearbox is nice and slick and she flies, particularly on Shell V Max! And I do like the raspy exhaust/engine note once you've taken the rubber bung off the air box!

Mine's only done 17000 mls  & the gear change can be obstructive especially on fast down changes. On a few occasions I've actually resurrected the dark art of double de-clutching if I've been in a hurry. Better put some more miles on it!

Pic of badge in situ.

The last few letters on the number plate are on a period 2011 plate selected by the previous/first owner whose name was JAN!

I had one on mine.  Expect to lose the colours in the Tricolor along with the lacquer on the badge. You can just see it above the rear valence on the right side.Powered By!! Dj6k4110

Araf,

How long did your badge last until it deteriorated? That said not very dear so if it gets scruffy I can always get another.

I applaud your St George's cross on the plate. Used to have smaller cross & GB in the blue band on my MGTF. After all: it was genuinely "Made in England".

On the Wind I currently have the blue stripe with GB but no EU flag. Technically illegal here & in Europe but one likes to make a point sometimes!!

Not sure.  Maybe a couple of years?  I put it on when I took the WIND letters off the boot lid, which was soon after I got it.

I was thinking of butting this graphic on the boot with the letters in the open part of the circle.
