It's a fab car, you either love it or hate it. 19 the Insurance might be a tad high so check first. If you can afford it then join us. You will get called a hairdresser but there again you might be. And you will attract attention as the roof operation is amazing.

Car design means alloys damaged easily so choose carefully.

I get things cos I like them, not what other people think. The Wind is a fantastic all round little car. Reasonably quick, reasonably nimble and with a superb roof. More than that though it's refreshing, DIFFERENT from all the other Euroboxes and still makes me SMILE and FEEL GOOD everytime I drive it, even after six years of ownership.

Agree - got mine because I liked it. Traded in a Megane that was going in for a service at the time and it's been my main car ever since.
Even though there are a few owners on here, it is still a rare car on the road and always gives me smiles when I drive it. More so when you catch other people's glances as they try to work out what it is. But that's enough for now as it's a nice day so off for a drive with roof down.

'Bargain' is the word. A rare, eye-catching, reliable, two seater, folding hard top roadster with a major manufacturer's back-up for around £4,000 with below average mileage.... Get 'em while you can cos they haven't made new ones for years...

Re: Might get a renault wind roadster
I get more questions about it than abuse. I also get a lot of people pulling alongside, gawping, then driving off.
Whilst the Wind may not have top speed prowess (at least my little 1.2 doesn't), it is pretty good at the traffic light launch being so light.
Mods are relatively light given the 'exclusive' nature of the car; although being a Clio/Twingo hybrid, a lot of the upgrades for those cars will fit. Have a look at K-Tec racing for options.
Get one though! Its the car bargain of the century!

Re: Might get a renault wind roadster
go on, you know you want to!!
I've had mine for just over 4 months and I love it to bits!
every time I get in it I smile!
I have had a couple of "hairdresser" comments but only from my daughters, so they don't really count
in fact it's so good I'm thinking of selling my scooter, which I also love to bits!!

A new; boy racer; member!
Welcome to the forum.
Being 50 years younger that I am you make me feel old.
That said I had my teenage motoring moments in a 1954 Hillman Minx Convertible. Very psychedelic: Pale green with a grey hood & purple wheels. I also removed the main silencer & had the exhaust coming out the side just in front of the rear wheel & fitted a larger main jet into the carburettor (What's a carburettor I hear many of you ask).
Maybe I too was a boy racer!!!!!!!!!!
Should you get a Wind? Why not, go for it.
Re donjack's daughters taking the Mickey.
I have gone down in the power stakes from Alfa Spider V6 to MGTF160 to the 1.6 Wind (133bhp).
BUT: My daughter has overtaken me with a move from Escort XR3i to a Celica T Sport to an Orange Audi TTS with well over 250bhp on tap. I know when I'm beaten!
