no bluetooth connection with new Smartphones
Hello.
My name is Andi.
I am from Austria, so please excuse my bad english.
I write here, because I can not find help in German forums.
One week ago I bought a Renault Wind 1.2 Tce Exception with Bluetooth.
I can not connect my Smartphone (Blackberry Priv) with the Radio.
Exist a new Software for the Radio? Or can I change the Radio to a new one?

Re: no bluetooth connection with new Smartphones
I have deleted the list of phones (five positions) on the radio.
Then I tried to pair my phone. I can see the name of the radio (radiosat). But if I select it I get the message: connection failed or cannot connet with radiosat.

Re: no bluetooth connection with new Smartphones
There was an update for the head units, which you download to a USB stick, and then upload to the car. I think early cars had v2.3 and the update is v2.42
Full details of compatable phones and the update file you need should be here: -
http://www.renault-multimedia.com/en_UK/bluetooth/
though I would think Renault DE or AT should have similar that would be easier for you to navigate.
Good luck, and welcome to the site.

Re: no bluetooth connection with new Smartphones
Thank you Araf.
Yesterday I spoke with someone from Renault.
He told me, the radio was built 2009.
I have the "newest" update for the radio.
It seems, I have to buy a new radio with Bluetooth. But then I can not use the remote control and the original display. :-(

Re: no bluetooth connection with new Smartphones
Hello Barbs.
I did.
Android version 4.1 and 4.2 are working.
Unfortunately, my wife and I use Android 5.1

That's a shame.
Just having a read, and android now use mtp rather than utp files, if that makes sense?
I'd change your phones.

Sorry we haven't helped but...
What are your opinions on the Wind?
Looked on the map didn't know the Wind had been on Sale there...
It's a long way but I am sure you and any of your Forum members would be welcome on the International meet....

Re: no bluetooth connection with new Smartphones
Hello again.
If you buy a new cellphone and it doesnt work with your original Radio Bluetoothsystem:
I found an easy and very cheap solution for this problem!
There is a free Android-App called Bluetooth File Transfer.
I installed the App on my cellphones and it works!

Re: no bluetooth connection with new Smartphones
When I upgraded from an iphone 5S to a 6S I had problems pairing but by turning off the ignition, removing the key and starting again I eventually managed it. Occasionally I get an error message on the display saying the phone isn't supported, but turning off the ignition, removing the key and then restarting likewise seems to solve the problem.
I love that when I startthe car it automatically detects my phone and begins playing the music on it. We also have a 2010 Honda CRV with Bluetooth audio/phone though less advanced than that on the Wind. When we enquired about updating the phone/audio system we were told it would cost several thousand pounds. Mind you, we were also quoted £250 for two new discs to update the Satnav, but got them off ebay for £30 and they work fine.

Re: no bluetooth connection with new Smartphones
Im running 6.0 Android on an Xperia z3 tablet compact, and it works but the initial connection is a bit hit and miss. It also pauses whatever is playing upon, rather than just connecting and continuing as every other Bluetooth does. My software version is 88.11.

Bluetooth works great on my s7 edge running 6.0.1 also on my partners OnePlus one running 6.0. Also I don't have the latest software update running 2.30. Can anyone tell me what changes the latest update brings? Thanks

Re: no bluetooth connection with new Smartphones
Oh boy, Bluetooth fun and games. Purchased phone in May (Android 7), just got it connected (Sept) through sheer bloody mindedness.
Don't know if it made any difference, but engine off and key out was the start of my success.
My advice - rather than struggle, drop by the dealer and ask for advice - they must be familiar with this wrestling match.
Grrrrr!
