Changing spark plugs [1.2 TCE] Empty Changing spark plugs [1.2 TCE]

Post by LukeC Sat 14 Nov 2015 - 23:38

Requires:

Torque wrench with 25nm setting
8/14mm deep impact socket (ideally 250mm long also as spark plugs are deep seated getting 1/2 sockets in is impossible you may be able to get a 3/8 or 1/4 deep impact in but I didn't try this)
Telescopic magnet (if socket isn't magnetic)

Take out 4 screws securing airbox there are 4 t25 screws two on the top and 2 about 5cm underneath those

Unclip the air inlet pipe by pushing the two circular buttons in with one hand and shuffle it down with the other until its clear

Remove airbox by shuffling it out

Unplug ht lead (do one at a time keep it simple)

Undo plug (counter clock wise) with torque wrench until they stop scraping then undo with the socket only (you'll be able to turn the socket a lot quicker)

Pull plug out

Place new ones in and turn the socket by hand as it will need quite a few turns until it feels tight then tighten to 25nm with the torque wrench this should only be around 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn

Repeat and replug
