Wiper Blade Arm Empty Wiper Blade Arm

Hello new to the Renault Wind and I am struggling to lift the nearside wiper arm off the screen.

It only lifts about 1-2 cm away from the screen and that appears to be the limit. Bit of a pain when trying to clear leaves or frost from the screen.

I am reluctant to apply too much pressure, as I have the subtlety of a sledge hammer and usually end up breaking things.

I have looked but I cannot see any locking mechanism / catch.

Am I missing something?

Hi there

Simple solution.. activate the wipers and switch the ignition off when they are vertical.
You can now lift both wiper arms fully away from the windscreen 😊

Don't know if this is just a French thing, but Peugeots are often the same

Hmmmmm..... that's a puzzler
Silly question, but are you stopping the wipers at vertical position, so upright ?
If they are in the "parked" position you definitely won't be able to lift both away from the screen

I tried it again, and with wiper arm at the top of its arc it still only lifts off the screen a couple of inches

Yes for some reason they all do that. One wiper lifts up fully and the other one doesn’t, which is a pain when washing the car. Must be a Renault thing as my Twingo GT before was exactly the same mate.

I'm certain that mine both came fully away from the windscreen when stopped at fully vertical bigjase... ?

I’ll have to have a look at that Old Sea Dog. I know on both the Wind and my Twingo the passenger side one won’t come more than an inch or so away from the windscreen in the normal position. 🤔
