Boot opening problem
This has just been posted on The Renault Wind Owners Club Facebook page and thought it may be handy to put on here also!
Hi guys as you may know I have had problems with the boot nor opening below is the steps I took to manually open it
1. Removed plastic panel behind the seats
2. Cut a opening in the thin cover
3. Put a vibrating saw on a pole and cut a hole in the plastic cover over the lock
4. There is a small plastic lever on the lock that needs to go to the left I achieved this by buying a small pick on a pole and put it in to a small hole on the lock and slid it to the left and it released the boot
I changed the switch and the lock but unfortunately still not working so it may be a sensor or a snapped wire or something so have had to relent and put it into renault to get a computer diagnostic grrr but at least I got the boot open woohoo

My new boot lock has arrived from France and is being fitted tomorrow. So let's hope that's me and the boot not opening problem sorted. I'll let you know what the bill comes to (good for you having the tenacity to dive in yourself)

LOL! When I read the titel I hoped it was from a newbie who forgot about the handbrake or did not know yet that the roof and the boot are best buddies concerning sensors...
But this... OMG!

Hi Marelo.....yep, when I first took ownership of my Wind, I (only once )...forgot to put the handbrake on to open the roof..sat there for 10 minutes panicking......then suddenly remembered....never making that mistake again !!
It's a pity that the windows go down when the roof closes though...up would seem more sensible

@'Old'SeaDog: Didn't we all have the problem once?
My first bigger tour was from the South of Germany to the Eifel (about 200 km away) to a summer cottage that belonged to my parents. When we arrived we wanted to get our suitcases out - no chance. Wouldn't open. We were shocked!
We went in - and for the moment I had the only dumb idea that came to my mind: reading the manual...
Not so dumb after all...

Thanks to Corona I have not travelled for months now. But I will on the following weekend!
Before Corona: Far from many. From time to time, yes I see one. I always get excited!

Pretty much the same here on the Kent coast....and mostly I see black ones...similar to mine, which is also black...but they usually dont have the gloss black alloys or brown leather seats like mine does

Re: Boot opening problem
Embarrassing situation over last weekend but makes you think. I was away in the Cotswolds.
At a Travelodge.
Parked car and closed the roof, got out of car went to get something out of the boot and it wouldn't open.
Panicked as our food was inside the boot.
Went in the Travelodge explained the situation to the wife.
What to do??
Then a thought hit me :bulb:
I couldn't remember locking the roof!
Went out locked the roof and hey presto the boot would open.
Mareiro's comment "did not know yet that the roof and the boot are best buddies concerning sensors..." so true
