Wind Font Name
I don't suppose anyone knows the name of the font Renault used to make the Wind logo? The standard Renault font packs are based around Serif fonts, but the Wind is obviously based upon a sans-serif style. Google doesn't seem to yield any results. Did Renault use the font on any other more ubiquitous cars that I could search for?
I've been messing around with some graphics but I'd like to add the text. I will have a bash at the swoosh logo at some point too.

The font seems to closely match Microsquare bold extended, but with a jaunty D. https://www.fontspring.com/fonts/fontsite/microsquare/microsquare-bold-extended#opentype
Re: Wind Font Name
@Barbs - I don't mind, although it may not print too well as its set to be transparent. I can do an all white version or a black version if you prefer. But I'm going to do some different angles too - I'm really liking the boot view too so will have a go at that when I get a bit of time. But I'm just messing around really.

Yep, i'll grab the RGB code for Wind blue tomorrow and do a blue. Suppose I might have to do a red version too
Re: Wind Font Name
Nice sketch. Yes you are right it seems to be based around sans-serif font family. Unfortunately I am so busy at work at the moment I have not been able to undertake very much research. I was going to email renault directly (far off shot) recreate a type able wind name using fontographer as a short term solution. Or find a similar font use it as a Base and tweak it to create a closer version of the font. All time consuming. I am too busy with work at the moment. But will try my best and see what I can dig up.ElNumbre wrote:I don't suppose anyone knows the name of the font Renault used to make the Wind logo? Re: Wind Font Name
That momosquare one looks like a good match. It looks like Renault use fonts like toilet paper; apart from the main logo the car names seem to be whatever the designer sketches lol. I thought I might have got it from the PDF brochure, but they don't even use it in that, other than a photo.
Don't worry too much, i'm only playing around with some ideas.

Belive it or not I think it could be stereo gothic that is the font used by renault sport. Since renault sport had a hand with the wind it makes senseElNumbre wrote:That momosquare one looks like a good match. Re: Wind Font Name
That could be a good call, it might be a variant of that font. The width of the strokes on the N are subtly different, but the W and D look pretty spot on.
Re: Wind Font Name
I am using my mobile at the moment. So it's difficult for me .However it does come in bold, italic and light might be worth checking out. Keep designing am excited to see what other designs you come up with!! Probably other variants. There is also a vector of the renault sport logo too kicking around the net from a guy who worked at renault HQElNumbre wrote:That could be a good call, it might be a variant of that font. Tonight's little sketch. This actually looks better on here than it did on the drawing app.
Re: Wind Font Name
Isnt there a website that will look at a font and find you the closest match; might be worth looking at.
