Key card programming

Hi All.
Thinking of getting a replacement key card (ebay) and I was thinking of getting a key card reader (ebay) so that I could programme the new key card. Has anybody else done this? If so could you let me know which programmer you used.
Please note I realise I am probably not correct in thinking that it is possible to do this.Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you John.

I can't help at all with this as I don't think I know any one that has done it. I believe Timpsons can programme a key for you.

My keys failed or were dying. I got 2 mobile key companies out. They couldn't do it. I.boughr a new key.from.ebay..useless. Did more.research. in.tthe.end I got the really helpful.people at Anacster Renault Dartford to do it. They ordered 2 keys from.renault which took a week to arrive and then programmed them. No one but Renault can do it as far as I can see. Ancaster were really gòd and helpful..it's not cheap.keys and programming about £100 each. That's £200 ish.per new.key. Good luck. Ray
