As nice as the Wind’s are, they are still just bits of steel.
The main thing is that you are ok.
There are more Wind’s around to replace your pride and joy!

Re: OOOH NOOO!
Good that no one was hurt seriously what a plonker in the other car. I also had an accident and got re-ended in october last year luckily no major injuries and the insurance went through quickly, still got my wind, had some of the damage sorted and its not so noticeable from a glance. Its shocking how some people drive nowdays.
Oh no
Sorry to see and hear that, you just can't account for other peoples' actions. - I was a wee bit nervy after my side-impact. Hope you get the Wind back on the road.
I had delayed concussion, head had whacked off the window, so watch out for that.

Re: OOOH NOOO!
I was back on the road within the week of my claim being accepted, luckily the other guy accepted full responsibility and I kept the money and my car (now a class N).
not heard much yet
ive got a brand new astra sport with 450 miles on it for a curtesy car lol (dont like it too modern)
the other driver took all responcibility so good there
i think its gonna be a right off, so how much they are gonna give me for a 10 year old car?
most likely not enough to buy like for like
neck is sore but not as bad as last years rear ender, but the phisio said it can come anytime in 2 weeks
thanks for the nice comments and support appreciate it tonnes
cheers moggie007
ill keep you posted

Re: OOOH NOOO!
Thats a pity, but at least you are ok, thats the main thing.
The problem with old cars, and especially a smashed up chassis on convertibles, is that they are expensive to repair as chassis usually has to be re-aligned to get the roof working again and water tight, and most likely insurance will just write it off.
I had a 6 year old Smart Cabrio MK1 years ago and it was rear ended hard stationary at the lights, the roof was knocked out of alignment and so it was written off. Trying to get enough money off the insurance to buy a similar car was hard going, as i refused first offer. I had to put extra money in to get another convertible.
I think most of us realise that convertibles are more likely to be written off by insurance, rather than pay a lot for repair work.
PS.....since that smash up at the lights, I always now keep my foot on the brake pedal when stationary, so all three brake lights are on, so the blind idiots behind have more chance of seeing me.

Re: OOOH NOOO!
hi all thanks for the nice replys.
https://youtu.be/pGpzWiBkk8g heres the crash if you are interested.
its been a while but its still going through, they offered me £3300 - excess of £250.
then offered me £2800 for the injury but no extras, so had to get on to them about the other things.
so i put in £250 excess
£40 new number plates
£80 retention of plates
so they came back with (suprisingly) £3370 total
i think they went for maximum of £3000 for the injury.
so i accepted but its going through the solicitors atm so looking good.
im fine now neck fine, newish wind fine
cheers
