Bootlid Struts

Hello folk,
We have moved to Ireland and the Wind seems rare here - if not unheard of!
The rear struts on the boot lid have packed in which means that lid is very heavy to open. I am struggling to find the struts in this country. Does any one know if they are common with another vehicle please?
Any knowledge will be greatly received as they don't seem easy to find in the UK either from a quick web search.
The car is a UK model born in 2011.
