Oh dear alloys
Well got to drive my WIND today. Nice little run to Sheffield. Get back to the house and.... ouch, kerbed a wheel. Thought I had learnt. Blaming the KA no chance of kerbing them. There's a thought... could I swop them?

I was thinking the other day that I might get the alloys on the red Wind refurbished as she only gets limited use, surely I can keep them unmarked? Then I went and kerbed the alloys on the black Wind, AGAIN!!!

That made me laugh but sad to say we don't learn.
It was still nice to drive him again.

When I bought mine in 2015; from a main dealer; the nearside wheels were kerbed & the tyres scuffed so I insisted on their refurbishment plus two new tyres to go on the front & the unscuffed ones put on the rear.
Thought how clumsy previous owner must have been as; prior to that; the last time I had kerbed a wheel was in 2000 in an SLK avoiding an oncoming double glazing van with it's offside glass carrier opened out.
I now know just how easy it is to do on the Wind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm ashamed of my wheels at present.

Don't forget you can advertise on here. Are they the17 inch. Just a reminder peeps... just taking a little bit off the plastic in the boot you can fit a full size spare in.

Well worth changing the wheels and tyres.
Changing my wheels gave me such a drop in noise and a much more comfortable ride you wouldn't believe it.
PLUS the taller tyres better fitted the wheels and made the kerbing go away.
As if all that wasn't good news, the cost of four wheels and tyres cost barely more that I was about to pay for four 'standard' tyres for the Wind due to their slightly unusual sizing.
A true, win, win situation.
If it means anything to you, this is what I went for: Rota Grid Matt Black 16x7 195/45R16

I have 5 alloys with new tyres but I think at sometime it will be a change. Having the car Ceramic coated ... they have said they would do the wheels but wondering if the wheels are not perfect couple of kerbs, should I try and get the wheels re painted first or just get on with the coating and maybe wait.
