Dashboard lighting?
Am I doing something wrong? The headlights are set to automatic, but the dashboard illumination doesn't seem to be happening. The brightness is on full according to the lcd (can't see how to adjust it). Tried changing the headlights to position 1 and 2 and it didn't light up. Hopefully it is just a fuse - the manual lists a dashboard electrics one, although the rest of the electronicals seem to work, so I hope im just being a bit thick.

Ah, well it turns out that for some reason the autolights don't turn on the dashboard lighting - it does come on when you use the manual stalk. Weird french software coders. Maybe something that can be tweaked with OBD reprogramming.
Thanks for the fusebox diagram.

Well at least you know it is not a fault. What kind of things can you get reprogrammed? Would love the renault welcome screen changed.@elnumbre

My lights are set on auto and as soon as my headlights come on so does the dashboard. Is there any internal features changed on yours... Stereo?

@barbs I still have to try the auto lights with the instructions you gave me. I need to see if it will work with mine.

Just below your mirror on the windscreen there is a circle that's the sensor. Found that out in France. Only had the car 5 years next month. The bottom of the windscreen drivers side there are 3 dots that's the windscreen rain sensor. Under the drivers side wind mirror that's the temp sensor.

No, as far as I know, the car is stock standard. Wonder if there is an updated ECU software if mine was an early car.
@tabascouk not sure. You need a Renault CLIP to do anything like that. Weighing up whether it is worth the ~£120 expense.

Re: Dashboard lighting?
Now that I have set my lights to auto like Barbs when my headlights come automatically on so does my dash board lights. You could try deactivating them and reactivating them.

The dots were wrong. I checked when we returned, as it dawned on me that the area for rain sensors needs to be in the swept area of the screen. Rain sensor is in with the lights sensor, behind the rear view mirror.

Thanks Araf I now have image of you with a watering can on the windscreen. Now I wonder what those 3 dots are for.

Alignment marks for robot assembly maybe?
