Do they provide power that could run a satnav / charge a phone  or are they just to put music into the audio system?

I have plugged my phone in and it did charge. I run my Satnav from the power supply in the glove box.

Yes it will power other devices but I’m sure the output is not that great more like a trickle charge if using device that have plugged.
Agree with Barbs and would use the 12v in glovebox. If need USB can get a 12v USB twin socket on Amazon for under £10.
I’ve found that using a USB cable plugged in near the gearstick and window switches can lead to some tangles.
