What tyres are people using? and what do you think of them.

Currently I have continental tyres (came with the car) but thinking about getting runway enduro 926 within the next few weeks, anyone use them before?

I been using cheap tyres and they are lethal in the wet, guess its one way to slow me down lol,
I cant complain about continentals for grip, but walls are weak and blow with slightest knock from the curb

Skip what is the make of the tyres you are using? the runway's are cheap around £48 each but they have the same wet rating as the continentals... so i guess that means they are as good in the wet.

I use Uniroyals and love them - but I'm on 15s. Stay away from Runways, Sunnys, and other cheap cheap tyres. They are at the budget end of budget. I've got Generals on the BMW, which are good, and cheap. I would also be happy to use Kumho, Nankang, or Sava.

I'll check and see what they do standard Wind sizes.....

From Mytyres, all + fitting (which is usually about £15 per corner) from Mytyres.

Nankang NS2 £37.50
Bridgestone RE002 £67.70
Michelin Pilotsport 3 £74.80
Continental Sport Contact 5 £81.90

From Camskill (as above re fitting)

Sava Utensa £61.00 (very quiet too)
Uniroyal Rainsport 3 £55.05

There's more to choose from, but you can see that the Contis are some of the most expensive.

Lovetyres are good too, the Michelin price quoted earlier is good, deciding weather to go for them or Goodyear eagle f1s

I have pinned it down to either

Kumho - Ecsta LE sport KU39 - £64
Michelin - Pilot Sport 3 - £96
Continental - SportContact 5 £94
Runway - Enduro 926 £48 (I read these are better than the last runway tyre)
Falken - ZE-914 £67
Prices incl fitting etc

I am thinking The falken seem to be an ok mid-range option....

I'd rather have the Kumho KU39 than the Falkens - though I haven't used ZE914s before. We had the KU39s on Mrs Araf's old car, and they were on a par with the previously fitted (original equipment) Bridgestones.

I'm going to give the Uniroyals a try on my 17s as been on the Continentals since got the car. Hoping at same time it will cure the driverside rear from needing to be pumped up more often then the others too.
My only questions - would you get wheels refurbed and change tyres at same time, or do that separately. If so which one first?

Probably looking at all 4 corners being done and with an MOT/service due in couple of months don't want to be spending out too much in one go if can spread it out a bit.

I would either get them done at the same time, or get the tyres first.

The reason for this, is that a good refurb place will remove the tyres to paint the wheels, and take care to remount them - or have to do the job again.

As for the slow puncture, it could be that the wheel is porous. Mention it when the wheel is being refurb'd, and they can check.
