DIY Servicing Empty Re: DIY Servicing

How come when I try to start a new thread I cannot see what I'm typing. I then resort to putting the post on the system which then shows up my random keying;which I couldn't see before. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Anyway back to the task at hand. Have done 90% of service & maintenance on all my past fun/sports cars so would prefer to continue to save money by putting my tool kit & ECU reader to use & getting my hands greasy.

Does anyone out there have copies of service manuals & service schedules for the 1.6?

I see from another message that getting at bits on the Wind is not easy & that special tool is needed even for sump plug.

Any advice, documents, etc would be appreciated.

Hi pittstop

Are you starting a new thread on a mobile as this appears to be when it is an issue.  if you are on the computer  you can see the icons above, the last one will change the writing to make it readable.

Most mechanical parts are interchangeable with the Mk11 Twingo and some of those are shared with the Mk11 Clio, where the floor architecture originated.

Likewise, for servicing, a manual for the Twingo will give you most of the details you need.  The 1.2 Wind has the same engine as the Twingo TCE and the 1.6 Wind shares the engine from the Twingo RS133.

When I first got the Wind I downloaded from the Internet a copy of Dialogys: Renault's own dealer maintenance database. It was a pain in the bottom. Had to be unzipped then run in a virtual machine & still didn't work. The supplier offered to sort it if I would allow them remote access to my PC. NO WAY JOSE! So I cut my losses & deleted it completely from my PC.
About a week ago I saw another supplier advertising Dialogys; covering a wide range of Renault models up to 2012;  on discs which included the WinRAR unzipping software and the VM (Virtual Machine) software which runs it on a virtual Windows XP machine within my PC which runs Windows 10. Detailed instructions were supplied.
I gave it a go at £12 inc postage.
Successfully downloaded & got it to run properly but it is quite slow due to its sheer size. It seems that you get all models or nothing & can't separate the data for just one model onto a smaller file.
I've started to have a look at it: Struggling with Gallic indexing logic as so far can't find basic stuff like service schedules but can find other useful stuff with step by step instructions.
Will need to allocate at least a day to explore it properly.
I'll report back.
