anyone have any experiences of installing a multifuel stove?
my wife has decided that she would like a multi fuel stove installing and i was just wondering if anyone has any experiences?
i have heard it can be quite expensive and there are a few regulations that must be adhered too!
any advice would be much appreciated!

Re: anyone have any experiences of installing a multifuel stove?
Hi Donjack. We have two installed, a Churchill 8 se..£920 and a Aga Hanwood £1400, you can get cheaper ones. we live in a older property with high ceilings so needed the bigger capacity wood stoves. the installation is expensive round about £1500. this has got to be done by a proper firm for house insurance purposes. We have chimneys so it was a straightforward job. But they can be fitted in a modern property without chimneys. Our firm used a 150mm diameter multifuel liner .Another thing to consider is the cost of logs we found it expensive around £85 for a builder sized bag ( like the ones you get from B&Q) So we got a wood permit from the Scottish forestry £55 for a 3month permit .Hope this helps. johntymac

Thanks for the info johntymac, much appreciated, we are only looking at a small one for occasional use, I do believe there are quite a few regulations that have to be followed, they don't make things easy (or cheap!) do they!!
Thanks again auld pal.
