the other love of my life!!

this is the other love of my life! I've had it just short of three years. I hadn't ridden for two weeks due to the arrival of my wind, both are brilliant at different jobs!! my heart is torn in two!! should be three if I count my wife!!

Well it has got two wheels. This is mine, my new BMW R1200R.

Very nice, has it got some of them funny gearchange thingies!! Haha

Actually it has, it is fitted with a powershifter which means you can change up through the gears without using the clutch or dropping the revs. It's also got a throttle blipper which allows you to change down through the gears without using the clutch. Great fun and the acceleration feels ballistic.

it looks and sounds like a fantastic bike! out of curiosity, can it be ridden on an automatic licence due to not having to use the clutch?
as you probably know, mines is a twist n go, nippy enough for me though!
my wife doesn't like me riding because she worries too much, hence why she allowed me to get my wind, one of the conditions was that I had to get rid of my scoot, but after a lot of tear shedding (mine!!) she relented and said because I love my scoot she had changed her mind...........thankfully!!  

No, you do need a full motorcycle licence. It does have a clutch which you do need to use to pull away and stop. You can ride the bike conventionally and use the clutch all the time. I think quite a few of the Japanese manufacturers are selling fully automatic bikes. The new Honda Africa Twin and the NC700 spring to mind, you can get fully automatic versions of these bikes. I do like the big scoots, they are now very stylish and the twist and go is ideal in traffic.
