It was. I was at Cottesmore, and managed 151.1 in a mile from a standing start.

We took the Focus out, which felt like sacrilege, but there were 2+2 dogs so not enough space. And I haven't cooked my forehead.

. 9.30 and it's dark sign that summer is ebbing away.

Roof off today a bit windy but a reasonable bit of sun. Been away so first drive for 2 weeks. Started and ran well ! Sounds like we need summer back though

Re: Summer has arrived
Bank Holiday Weather?
It was great in the South East so we had a day out.
Roof down all the way, took in two National Trust places (Making the most of our membership fee!) plus lunch & tea.
Just what the Wind is for.
5 year old girl absolutely enthralled watching the roof go down much to her parent's amusement!
Off to La Rochelle in 2 weeks time so some Gallic topless Winding coming up.

Re: Summer has arrived
Sadly although, according to Barbs, "Summer Has Arrived" we currently have a Summer of Discontent developing re motoring holidays to France.
Escalating migrant threat to motorists on the A16 may be exacerbated by the latest proposal by Calais business people & French truckers to blockade the A16 in protest against the migrants. How ironic is that. We will have to weigh the risk to our personal safety on the return journey & may have to cancel if we feel it's too risky.
The French tourist industry must be very worried as I'm sure we won't be the only people considering cancellation.

Re: Summer has arrived
We came back via Caen as I was a bit worried about the journey back to Calais. It is a long crossing but we just accepted that it was in our case and extra night. I hope whatever you decide it doesn't spoil your holiday.pittstop wrote:Sadly although, according to Barbs, "Summer Has Arrived" we currently have a Summer of Discontent developing re motoring holidays to France.

Re: Summer has arrived
I guess you took the ferry from Le Harvre.
Living in Kent we're currently booked both ways on the shuttle but I might look for an alternative short channel crossing for the return journey, perhaps Dunkirk, & sacrifice the cost of the pre paid return shuttle.
Will monitor situation.
If anyone has more up to date info re Calais over the next week please respond on this thread.
Thanks.
