Wind Deflector
Hi all
Im looking to source the mesh type wind deflector - the type that fits behind the seats.
I know they were an original equipment accessory, but I cant locate one anywhere online.
Any tips or ideas ?
CheersĀ

Re: Wind Deflector
They are more rare than hens teeth!
You can get the Perspex one from a company online.
Are you a member of The Renault Wind Owners Club UK on Facebook as you can use the search at the top of the page to find out more about them?

Re: Wind Deflector
Hiya mate , thanks for your message
I’m not on Facebook I’m afraid , but I checked previous posts that had been made suggesting a company called atec-3d could supply them
I contacted the company but they have stopped doing them
Cheers

Ah right mate! Yes I think that was the company that was last mentioned on the club facebook page.
I know the originals rarely come up for sale.
I must admit though, there has been quite a few conversations on the Facebook page with mixed reviews, but I don’t think they are all they are cracked up to be as a wind deflector.
If I do find anything else on the club page, I will let you know though mate.

Re: Wind Deflector
Thanks mate , appreciate that and to be honest it’s now not my priority just now anymore
Thought I would grease up my roof a few days ago as recommended, only to find it would only open a few inches before beeping a fault on the dash .
Managed to get it back down and locked , tried disconnecting the battery and doing electric window re set , but no joy .
Have you had any problems with yours before ?
Cheers

Re: Wind Deflector
Luckily I’ve not mate. You do have to keep them well lubricated, but also if they have not been used for a while they can get sticky.
If the battery isn’t up to par, that can really cause problems with the roof.

Also make sure the car isn’t on a slight incline.

It’s on the flat , I know they don’t like the slopes it’s never had any issue before, but I’ll just have to work through eliminating potential issues
Thanks again for response mate

Re: Wind Deflector
Have you tried giving it a helping hand pushing it from underneath as it goes away from the front seal. Sometimes if it hasn’t been used for a while, that’s all it needs to get it going?

Re: Wind Deflector
I thought about it , but was scared I might cause damage
The windows are only going down about an inch and the rear flap with the cowls opens about the same , then the warning buzzer and spanner light comes on , so I figured it’s some kind of electrical fault instead of sticking mechanism???

Re: Wind Deflector
Ah right! Yes it does sound a little more than just a lack of use or lubrication to be fair mate.

Re: Wind Deflector
Aye , it wasn’t sticking when I unlocked it , it was moving freely from the windscreen seal , so I didn’t want to force it mate .
I’m sure I’ll get to the bottom of it , and will report back any findings in case anyone else has the same issue - cheers again

Re: Wind Deflector
Just another quick idea from the Facebook club page. The roof won’t work if it’s less than -10 degrees. Check the temp on your dash as if the sensor is faulty, the roof won’t work.

Re: Wind Deflector
Well that rules out opening it this week - it’s -12 in Scotland tonight I think it was ok when I tried to open it last week, but I’ll keep that in mind when it warms up here a bit - It could be a while mind

Re: Wind Deflector
So the roof is now working and butter smooth .
I had a mate on either side giving it a wee help as I operated the roof opening switch and it opened ok .
Left it half open and cleaned out all the crap , then sprayed rollers , hinges and all moving parts with silicone spray grease .
Used silicone grease on all seals and contact points and roof is perfect again
Easy fix
