Use it or lose it

Post by colin565 on Sat 12 Dec 2015 - 21:03

Well winter has moved in with an icy bite, and its time to remember to occasionally open and close your roof every other week, so that it does not seize up through lack of use.

Only do this on a day that the car is not iced up.

Also worth lubricating the roof seals with silicon oil spray*, to keep them in top condition. Including the door seals and boot seals. I do this twice a year.

*.... I spray the stuff into the lid of the can, and apply with a rag, so that it does not go over seats and trim. (you can buy in Halfords for £3, or any other car shop).

I usually resort to wacking it with the back of my fist as it gets stuck quite a bit; I will have to spray them

True Grit...

I have a new jacket, it beats Graham's flying jacket. It's warm, warm, warm.

For those that don't know us. I bought the car and Graham didn't have a jacket to combat the Winter drives so on Ebay he bought a flying jacket, we are getting him the goggles and scarf this year.

It was 16 C here today, no kidding in mid December, and roof off for a while Very Happy

I love global warming, with hot air from the Canaries reaching the Central Belt of Scotland. Our Winter is now better than Summer!

(Well, for today, that is, likely 3C tomorrow, its totally weird weather)

Long
may the mild weather continue. Didn't take the car out today there was a craft and food fayre near home. It would of taken longer to drive than walk. The Wind did get a good wash and wax yesterday by me, then a bird pooped on it.....
