3.4S with quite a heavy spec - Nav, Bose, Sport Chrono etc.

Don't be. My fingers are crossed, but repair bills would make you weep.
Discs, pads, and a set of tyres for my Wind would come in at around £500
For the Boxster it would be around £2k

Yes, the bills for the cars we have in the fleet always make me cringe. Happy with 'My Wind' but ready for topless motoring again. It's either been too wet or too windy.

Looks like lots of fun. How does the boot size compare with the Wind? And how windy is it when the top is down?

From past experience, it's less windy than a Wind, with the roof down, and you can run with the roof down when it's raining, and still stay dry (as long as you're doing about 40mph).
Boot size is 'different' as you have one at the front, and one at the back. I would say there's a little more room in a Boxster - at least usable room, as the Wind rear deck intrudes into the boot when it's closed.
