Renault World series

Post by skippy on Tue 17 Mar 2015 - 20:12

When I went to the World series at Silverstone the year the Winds came out, I had bought myself one a month before hand and when i was going round the Renault village that was in the middle of the circuit they had 4 Winds on display and when i was looking over the Gordini model to see if there was much difference between that and my 1.6 GT version, and some bloke standing next to me sarcastically said to me "bet you'd love to own one of these cars". but i did enjoy seeing the guys jaw hit the ground when i told him i already got one Smile

I read the other day (yes it does sometimes happen), that the Megane, Clio, and Twingo accounted for 90% of UK Renault sales, which was one reason why they canned the rest of the range in 2012. They also needed showroom space for the incoming Dacia cars, so getting rid of the slow movers gave them the flexibility they needed.

Makes sense, and worked out better for us as limited numbers made will make them a future classic

That's still a lot - but it does mean that parts supply will dry up sooner rather than later.
